Green solvent extraction and properties characterization of Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) biosynthesized by mixed microbial consortia fed fermented dairy manure

The aims of this study were to assess the large-scale extraction and recovery poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) biosynthesized by mixed microbial consortia (MMC) that was fed fermented dairy manure at pilot level using green solvents (ethanol, cyclohexanone (CYC), dimethyl carbonate (DMC)). reflux procedure with CYC for 3 h 130 °C DMC 4 90 showed highest (32.3%) an overall pure yield 30.0%. A modified Soxhlet process also evaluated gave lower crude (18–20%) purified (12.7–13.8%) PHBV yields. molar mass extracted in 7.07 × 105 g·mol?1 which comparable control. thermal, mechanical, rheological behavior examined.
